|7th Edition of Journalism Awards

Shashi Panja, Minister-in-charge of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare and Actress Rituparna Sengupta and Indrajit Roy conferred veteran political journalist Sukharanjan Sengupta with the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, in this edition of Award ceremony.
Shashi Panja, , Sudarshan Ghosh Dastidar, Director of the Ghosh Dastidar Institute for Fertility Research, Sadhan Pandey, Minister for Consumer Affairs & Self Help Group & Self-Employment in the Government of West Bengal, Actress Rituparna Sengupta, Paoli Dam, Director Duo Abhijit Guha, Sudeshna Roy, Kamal Agarwala, Chairman of Nasscom Eastern Regional Council along with a host of Tollywood celebrities, eminent personalities and veteran journalists were present to raise a toast to the winners of the 7th edition of this prestigious ceremony.
The previous six editions witnessed the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award being presented to media stalwarts such as Late Moti Nandi (1st edition), Durgadas Chatterjee (2nd edition), Nihal Singh (3rd edition), Amitava Chowdhury (4th edition), Kishore Bhimani (5th edition) and Uday Banerjee (6th Edition).
The judge’s panel for this year included reputed journalists such as Abhijit Dasgupta, retired station director of Doordarshan (Indian National Television) and Bureau Chief of Worldwide Television News, Tulsi Dutta, celebrated journalist who has worked with houses like The Indian Express, Bartaman. Amongst others, Subrata Nag Choudhury, highly praised journalist who has been the resident editor of The Indian Express and had been a part of India Today Magazine, The Telegraph and Reuters, Salamuddin (Saloo) Choudhury, well known Hindi-Urdu poet and T. Narayan, Ex-Photo Editor, The week and a veteran photo journalist with more than 25 years of professional experience.
